Hello and welcome to industrialghosts.co.uk. This site is presented as a gallery of work by two photographers, Christopher Harrison and Stephen Lewis, documenting the perculiarities of Britain's industrial heritage, and in particular our extensive dismantled railway network.
The Permanent Way
"What if Human Beings have a romantic genetic affinity to ancient trade routes? and in the recent past, that affinity has been transferred to closed railway lines - which could be seen to represent a longing for the ghost-ways of our collective (and missing) nomadic past?"

After initially setting out to document mainly architectural and landscape features, we quickly realised that the monumental task of walking 1000's of miles in order to obtain this documentary was actually worth documenting itself.
